Posting Summary | The Department of Journalism and Media Studies in Rutgers University's School of Communication and Information invites applications for an academic year (nine-month), three-year, renewable non-tenure track professional faculty position, with a specialization in multimedia production. We seek an experienced professional and innovative instructor of courses in digital media production, video or broadcast production, audio production/podcasting, or immersive media. Investigative journalism experience would be a plus. Opportunities to teach journalism skills courses involving writing, reporting, editing and design also exist. An annual allocation for job-related activity is provided. The appointment begins on September 1, 2024. We seek a creative, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking colleague who can help prepare our 400 undergraduate majors, and students in our growing master's track in Digital Media, for today's rapidly-changing media fields. Applicants should have experience with camera setups, audio storytelling and production, video editing and lighting, and familiarity with professional broadcast production workflows. We especially welcome applications from members of historically marginalized and underrepresented groups. Job Responsibilities Responsibilities of non-tenure track faculty members include teaching and service contributions in accordance with university policy. Non-tenure track faculty members typically teach four courses per semester, though there are opportunities for course reassignment, to pursue special projects, or other initiatives.
