Overview
Recycling Supervisors are responsible organizing a steady flow of recyclable goods. Supervisors are assigned to manage the waste management employees on site and arrange disposal of client waste. These items include but not limited to large cardboard items, plastic, scrap, refuse and wooden shipping pallets. These items are processed through our clients balers which all staff will be trained on baler safety protocols and distribution of bales. Everyone is responsible for maintaining a safe, respectful and heathy work environment.
Monday - Thursday 6pm-6am
Essential Functions
Always communicate regularly and professionally with client, teammates, staff and other contractors.
Supervisors are responsible for operating in assigned areas and possible use of balers. These areas are subject to change on any given day depending on the client’s needs.
Supervisors are further responsible for staff training of staff and safe safe transportation, loading, and unloading of recyclable goods.
Complies with all safety, security, compliance and safety standards and procedures established by ABM and our Client.
Reports to ABM site management operations on any and all tasks.
Responsibilities
Supervisors are responsible for the assigned recycling crew members performance and safety.
Managing different and various location on site.
Stay in daily communication with client managers and supervisors to insure we are meeting client needs.
Preform daily safety talks with staff, ensuring all have proper PPE and tools for the job.
Complete all ABM training and upkeep of any required courses.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand; Climb; Bend forward; Kneel; during their assigned shift. Ability to lift, carry, push/pull and transport 10+ pounds at least 75% of the shift to complete physical tasks related to responsibilities.
Ensure that work equipment is in good condition, clean and sanitized before, during, and after your shift.
Trash – remove recyclables from trash or plastic and transports to the proper disposal area, includes the use of a baler. Cardboard Processing – Cutting and breaking down of items into gaylords, delivering items to the baler or other assigned areas. Wood pallets – Lifting or use of pallet jacks for organizing items to the proper areas. Evaluating condition for possible resale.
Come prepared to work with all assigned PPE and weather permitting attire.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Bilingual - English/ Spanish. Read and write.
1 Year of supervisory experience
Warehouse/factory experience
