Local News Alert Center Anchor Reporter
WBBH, the NBC affiliate in Southwest Florida is now hiring a News Alert Center Anchor Reporter. We need a good storyteller who has excellent on-air presence and engagement skills. We want someone who can captivate our viewers and a journalist who will grow this position. You will report to the News Director.
Responsibilities
Prepare morning Alert Center hits from around the country News gather for reports Provide concise live reports for morning show while performing ad lib Research and report up-to-the-minute live breaking news Communicate important information to the show producers and show anchors promptly Make sure that corresponding graphics, video and live shots are used accurately Communicate information to viewers through digital platforms including our station website, mobile app, and social media pages Produce special project and/or day turn stories in the fieldRequirements
Professional or college experience as a journalist and storyteller in a commercial television station Experience using newsroom systems preferred Suited to ad-lib in breaking news situations Clear speech, basic knowledge of how to use a computer and basic knowledge of social media Familiar with street and highway names and directions; quick to learn Must be creative and work well with others Related military experience will be consideredDiversity Statement
