CACI’s Agile Solution Factory (ASF) is currently seeking a Network Security Engineer for a vital role based in Ashburn and Chantilly, VA. This hybrid position forms a crucial part of our team engaged in cyber security support for the Department of Defense. The primary focus is on developing and managing a secure network supporting VOIP systems, particularly for unclassified systems handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI), categorized as Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

More About the Role:
The role requires extensive expertise in network security engineering, particularly in building and configuring firewalls, developing security stacks, implementing endpoint protections, and hardening both physical and virtual systems. In-depth knowledge of securing VOIP technologies, especially in the context of handling CUI like PII and PHI, is crucial.
Responsibilities include coordination with government customer security offices and managing Information Assurance (IA)-related tasks. The role also involves overseeing the design, development, and implementation of secure communication systems and facilities .
Key duties involve ensuring compliance with Federal, DOD, and Army guidelines, managing security practices for securing VOIP networks Experience with Communications Security (COMSEC), familiarity with Command Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRIs), and collaboration with Cyber Security Service Providers (CSSPs) is crucial.
Responsibilities:
Configuration and maintenance of security tools for VOIP systems.
Hardening efforts for systems handling PII and PHI.
Coordination with the Network Enterprise Center at Fort Belvoir for environmental security and integrity.
Application of Computer Network Defense (CND) skills in system management.
Development and implementation of security policies and oversight of physical security measures
Drafting and maintaining relevant security documentation.
Management and oversight of the COMSEC program, including inventory and incident response.
Collaboration and coordination with Cyber Security Service Providers (CSSP).
You’ll Bring These Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship with an active DOD Government SECRET security clearance.
Degree in Information Assurance, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Security+ Certification or equivalent DOD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification; CISSP is a plus.
Knowledge of National/DoD/Army security policies.
Risk management expertise.
Proficiency in security provisioning and monitoring tools.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Understanding of DOD Cybersecurity policies and requirements.
10+ years of related technical experience.
Experience with COMSEC, CCRI, and coordination with CSSP.
Hardening devices using Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
Experience with building/configuring ACAS/Tenable Nessus, Firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems, and enterprise Antivirus technologies.
Familiarity with continuous integration tools.
Hands on experience with Security Architecture and Design
Ability to recommend Best in Breed toolsets to cover Defense-in-Depth principles.
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have
Knowledge of ISO 27000 information security management principles.
Proficiency in scripting languages and CND processes.
Ability to creatively solve problems and work independently.
Specific technologies may vary, but understanding the deployment ofconfiguration of the following technologies is a plus: Palo Alto Firewall, Trellix AESS Suite, Tenable Nessus ACAS, VMWare, Ribbon Communication for VOIP.
