It includes the design of the projects, generation of all technical documents, updating internal tools, deployment of systems in the real network and handover for operations. Also the deployment team is responsible to participate in testing new solutions and define technical requirements. Automation is a very important topic in this team to improve the deployment process, reduce the manual activities and make interaction between internal tools.About the teamThe Long Haul Deployment team is responsible for the installation and commissioning of the DWDM systems for Optical Backbone. Our mission is to deliver unconstrained inter-regional transport at the lowest cost, with the most available product conceivable to AWS customers, making it invisible. The team vends capacity to internet backbone customers that provides low latency, high availability and supports features our customers expect.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Seattle, WA, USA- 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience- Bachelor's Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience to a Bachelor's degree;- 5+ years' experience with major DWDM platforms;- 3+ years' Experience with optical planning and modelling tools;- Experience with the rollout of large DWDM networks.- 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience- Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills;- Good working knowledge of IP networking fundamentals;- Strong Unix skills;- Ability to script/program in a language are highly desirable;- Knowledge of L2 switching and L3 routing is desirable;- Optical network design, planning and implementation skills;- Team mentoring and technical team leadership experience;- Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role.- Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this roleOur compensation reflects the cost of
