About Network and Automation Engineer

  Audubon is currently seeking a Network and Automation Engineer to join our team in our Canonsburg, PA Office. The Network and Automation Engineer at Audubon shall have shown the ability to support Operational Technology (OT) components, which include PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA deployments, Virtualization builds and migrations, Network Segmentation (VLAN's, Firewalls, Switches, etc.), Asset Inventory and Management, and Window Servers/Anti-Virus/Patching, among others, for various industrial facilities. Ideally, they shall have served customers and facilities in the Oil & Natural Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Food and Beverage, Steel, Water/Waste Water, Power Generation, and/or Specialty spaces. They must be able to initiate customers and build relationships through first person interactions.

   

  PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  Responsible for maintenance and documentation of all OT network componentsServe as the contact person for all changes, extensions, and clean-up within the OT network infrastructureEnsure compliance with internal and external (OT/IT) guidelines (i.e. roll-outs, back-ups, recovery, etc.)Responsible for Network Segmentation in coordination with the IT and Automation teamsSupport on PLC, HMI, DCS, and SCADA deployments, maintenance, and integrationSupport the process engineering team for data acquisition, processing, and evaluation while also supporting the OPEXteam on process improvement activitiesEnsure appropriate risk is mitigated during roll-outs, migrations, and integrationsAssist with creating, modifying, or maintaining functional descriptions, control logic, and interlocks when appropriateMaintain OT security based on guiding OT Cyber-Security FrameworkMaintain Virtual System Management (specifically VMWare and Huper-V), including migrationsTroubleshoot and resolve OT hardware and system related issuesManage Windows Servers, Enterprise Anit-Virus, endpoint security, SIEM, logging configurations, IDS/IPS, authenticationmethods, TCP/IP, packet captures and analysis, and WSUSManage basic networks including switching, routing, firewall management, IPSec/VPN tunnels, and encryptionMaintain up-to-date IT, OT, and security technology trendsInvestigate any cyber-security incidents/near misses in the OT environment

   

  EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, MIS, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Science preferred, preferably froman ABET accredited institutionMinimum 7+ years relevant industrial experience in the areas of Engineering design, implementation, certification, andmaintenance of all aspects of a large scale, high-complexity, integrated, highly available Process Control SystemWorking knowledge of mainstream Control System PLC's and DCS's, including ABB, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Emerson, GE,and related technologiesProven, hands-on System Integration experienceKnowledge of safe work practices and engineering obligations in an industrial environment, including changemanagement (MOC) work processes and proceduresFamiliarity with maintenance practicesFamiliarity with basic network scanning and tracing tools such as Nmap and WiresharkExperience with Windows command line as it pertains to establishing and troubleshooting network communicationsacross devices and servicesExperience working with managed switches (i.e. Cisco), firewall rules/management, and Cybersecurity Services (i.e.Fortinet)Advanced analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills to develop creative solutions to complex problemsAbility to work effectively within a multi-discipline team environment consisting of Engineering, Projects, Maintenance,and Operations, collaboratively troubleshooting and solving plant issuesKnowledge of many other aspects of Indust ial Automation, including roles of BPCS and SIS, Instrumentation, andCommunication protocols (Modbus, Serial, Profibus DP/PA, TCP/IP, Profinet, Genius, etc.)Ability to independently find a solution for or to deal proactively with work related problemsAbility to comprehend instructions and request clarification as necessaryFavorable to possess a networking or security certification (Cisco, CompTIA, GIAC, etc.)Experience with one or more computer programming languages (Python, C++, Java, VBA, etc.)Excellent grammar, punctuation, and etiquette desiredWillingness to learn new platforms, technologies, and interest in crossing over into other aspects of AutomationMust be very organized, detail oriented, with the ability to identify outliers quicklyDemonstrated field troubleshooting abilityAbility to follow and perform work in accordance with company and customer HSE policyAbility to travel to customer sites as required, with travel expectations averaging around 25%
