Responsibilities
We are seeking a mission-focused Network Administrator III to support and contribute to our government customer’s success in Washington, DC or Reston, VA!
Join our team at the forefront of advancing communication systems for the Defense Intelligence Enterprise. This role is part of a dynamic program focused on Engineering and Operations, driving continuous improvements in the design, transition, operations, and service of LAN, WAN, and Unified Communication services across classified and unclassified networks.
As a Tier 3 NOC Network Engineer, you’ll be challenged with complex support issues where you will coordinate with other NOC and Operational staff and be asked to lead and perform platform upgrades. As a leader of the Network team, you are expected to coordinate ticket acceptance and resolutions. You will develop technical resolution reports for critical outages in the network.
Duties, Tasks & Responsibilities:
Perform system patching and IAVA patches to network routers and switches, as well as IOS and software upgrades.
Create, review, and publish in KM system Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for network operations.
Troubleshooting system(s) failures and accessibility problems within the network to our services.
Monitor network performance, track usage, and develop capacity planning reports.
Develop and maintain IP Address allocations tables.
Make recommendations that enhance operational efficiencies for network monitoring, management, and overall operations.
Use experience and knowledge articles to understand/implement potential workarounds, while updating knowledge articles and handling “how to” questions.
Support KM management by entering solutions into the Solutions database.
Facilitating engineering design data calls.
Lead new/enhanced network implementation, installation, and technical refresh projects within a site or locale.
Work independently while providing leadership to the rest of the Network team.
Perform Network ticket resolution and support ticket closure across Network OPS staff to include:
Initial categorization of service requests (type, sub-type, location device, priority, etc.)
Utilize administrative access to the network to provision new switches, router, VLANs, and Krypto.
Use administrative access to network components to research errors, incidents, problems, and to perform incident analysis and identify potential problems.
Route service requests to the appropriate organization required for incident resolution.
Perform root cause analysis.
Complete problem resolutions associated with incident ticket(s).
Configure, deploy, manage, and maintain network monitoring systems used by technicians to ensure availability and overall performance of system and services.
Assist with the development of network-related implementation and deployment documentation.
Test and evaluate network designs to determine whether customer requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
Support the development of testing aids for validating lab configurations or systems in the lab.
Assists with testing and documentation for products/solutions/systems being tested.
Lead research and testing of new or modified hardware or software products to determine performance and interoperability.
Supports engineers or other staff in the design or implementation of new solutions.
Lead validation of lab environment disaster recovery plans.
Qualifications
Required Experience, Education, Skills & Technologies:
Years of experience with one of the following:
High School/GED plus eleven (11) years of relevant experience
Associate degree plus nine (9) years of relevant experience
Bachelor's degree plus seven (7) years of relevant experience
Master's degree plus five (5) years of relevant experience
Doctorate degree plus three (3) years of relevant experience
DOD 8140 certification(s): IAT II, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Security
Security Clearance Level:
TS/SCI or TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (preferred)
Work Schedule:
Full-time on-site
