The primary purpose of the Senior Applications Systems Analyst position is to support the development of application solutions to meet the needs of MD Anderson clinical and research communities. The Senior Applications Systems Analyst provides technical expertise in defining, developing, implementing, and supporting solutions for Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning model, and Text Analytics at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

　　Manage/lead efforts in solution design and development

　　• Provides expertise in the activities of design, development, testing, issue resolution, and support of complex text analytics and NLP models.

　　• Lead in identifying the scope and needs of source data and actively gather detailed business requirements and business rules of content extraction.

　　• Build Text Analytics and NLP Information Models perform and analyze performance results and iteratively update model to meet precision and recall requirements.

　　• Build, customize, and optimize data dictionaries used in text analytics and NLP.

　　• Documents detailed design specifications (ETL, specs, Information models, etc.) using appropriate standardized documentation.

　　• Identifies and resolves project issues. Identifies, recommends and incorporates quality assurance and risk mitigation activities into issue resolutions/solutions.

　　• Has a fundamental understanding of technical concepts.

　　Provides support of applications maintained by Enterprise Development and Integration teams

　　• Triages and provides immediate support to the user community

　　• Coordinates full resolution and documentation.

　　• Performs on-call duties in conjunction with other EDI team members.

　　Demonstrates expertise in utilizing industry best practices

　　• In the acquisition, development, implementation of EDI and NLP applications

　　• Maintenance applications according to industry and Institutional best practices

　　Manages client relationships

　　• Serving as a trusted technical subject matter expert and advisor.

　　• Assist client in identifying opportunities, plan for and scope future activities.

　　• Inform client of current trends and best practices.

　　• Assist in aligning client with other institutional initiatives/activities which may provide benefit to them.

　　Education Required: Bachelor's degree.

　　Preferred Education: Master's Level Degree

　　Certification Required: None

　　Preferred Certification: Active certifications in related fields

　　Experience Required: Five years' experience in Epic software, domain, analysis, design, project management, or programming. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one-to-one basis.

　　Preferred Experience:

　　Experience with all of the following: Java, Python, Regular expression, Web service, XML, and Natural Language Processing

　　•Deep Learning, ML Model for NLP such as BERT, ML Model Management

　　• Computer Vision, OCR, ICR, or Forms Recognizer

　　• Experience working in large academic healthcare institution

　　• Experience in clinical or medical informatics
