Scheduled Weekly Hours:40 Job Description: Under QualifiedSupervision by a Technician or Technologist for each Exam Performed:Performs high quality Computed Tomography(CT)*, mammographic**,radiographic exams and procedures to aide in medical diagnosis,treatment and prevention of disease. *CT requirements only pertain toemployees performing those exams. **Mammography requirements onlypertain to employees performing those exams. Major Responsibilities 1.Works with Gundersen Health System patient and families to providecompassionate, individualized care in the provision of Imaging services.2. Understands and applies the concepts of radiography and ormammography/CT when performing patient exams. 3. Demonstrates accurateknowledge of established protocols and equipment operation whenperforming exams on patients. 4. Provides the best images possible toradiologists and providers for interpretation. 5. Provides high qualityservice to customers in a cost effective and efficient manner. 6.Carefully observes and follows all departmental radiation, mechanicaland electrical safety policies. Pays particular attention to patientsafety in regards to positioning patients. Keeps rooms and equipmentclean and safe for operation. Reports an erratic machine operation orpotential unsafe situations to Medical Physicist or BiomedicalEngineers. 7. Educates patients regarding exam or procedure. 8. Preparesand administers contrast media and or medications within accepted scopeof practice. 9. Assumes responsibility to provide a quality learningenvironment for patients, their families, students and co-workers. 10.Utilizes knowledge of regulatory compliance when working with patientsand their associated charges. 11. Maintains confidentiality with othersregarding patient and organizational information. 12. Responsible forattending staff meetings, in-services and continuing education.Continually strives to learn new technical information. 13. Technologistmay be assigned to a primary site but is required to cover other sitesas needed.
