  A day in the Life:

  Run a variety of PCR equipment for respiratory viruses and bacteria, gastrointestinal viruses and bacteria, and other infectious diseases.

  Reviewing patient data and quality controls for acceptability

  Troubleshooting instrument and assay issues

  Working with periodic supervision on a team with 10+ team members

  Performs lab support activities as required to maintain calibration/maintenance requirements and provide support for department

  Understands and maintains a safe work environment for themselves and others in accordance with procedural requirements

  Perform lab support activities as necessary and provide support for department

  Accepts responsibility to complete assigned tasks as committed. Works with others to maintain a positive atmosphere to accomplish business objectives

  Keys to Success:

  Education

  Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualificationExperience

  Experience equal to 2+ years of experience with polymerase-chain-reaction (PCR) testing

  Experience with running and troubleshooting PCR analytical instrumentation such as Quant Studios, BioFire Film Array Towers, Roche Cobas 4800/6800/8800

  Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  Knowledge of applicable regulatory authority, compendia and ICH guidelines

  Ability to understand and independently apply GMPs and /or GLPs to everyday work with regard to documentation an instrument use

  Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel and Word to perform tasks

  Ability to independently optimize analytical methods

  Good written and oral communication skills

  Time management and project management skills

  Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities

  Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a team

  Strong organization, attention to detail, and multi-tasking skills
