Kelly Scientific is looking for an individual to join one of our partners for a Direct-Hire opportunity in Omaha, NE.
The ideal candidate will have CLIA/CAP experience and technical skills related to the following techniques: qPCR, High Resolution Melt (HRM), Capillary and Gel Electrophoresis, Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR).
Responsibilities:
• Perform complex molecular-based procedures with a high degree of quality and in accordance with established protocols;
• Produce and maintain applicable data recording as required by following established guidelines, review data for accuracy and completeness, ensure data is properly documented and entered to file;
• Work closely with other lab staff to ensure research, development and laboratory schedules are maintained, cross-train and perform various laboratory tasks as requested by laboratory management;
• Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning/sanitization and calibrations on laboratory equipment, following established internal guidelines and operator’s manual instructions for each piece of equipment. Ensure all equipment is in working order, provide troubleshooting and technical assistance to meet or exceed laboratory timelines;
• Assist in the development and validation of new or improved assays;
• Conduct in-depth troubleshooting of instrumentation and processes, and train new employees as directed by supervisor;
• Perform second reviews of data, documentation, and reports;
Education
BS in medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology
Certified medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists MLS(ASCP)
American Medical Technologist (AMT) or equivalent
Experience with molecular diagnostics in a CLIA-certified laboratory
Experience with PCR and Sanger sequencing
