Job Description
Within the Modeling team we currently have an opening for a
Modeling Specialist
In this role, you will be responsible for the development of models and data solutions that support the global Technical Service team to create unique value propositions and evaluate catalyst performance in an efficient way. Key focus area is kinetic model development to assist our customers in the energy transition. Our area of focus includes renewables hydroprocessing and enhanced plastic recycling via pyrolysis oil hydroprocessing. This role can be based in Amsterdam or Houston.
Key focus and responsibilities
Contribute to the development of (reactor)models that enable to make accurate catalyst performance forecasts and unit monitoring. In addition to accuracy, robustness, speed of calculation and user-friendliness of the interface should be well designed to enable the users to work in an efficient way.
Contribute to the development of an efficient data infrastructure that makes both lab testing data and commercial data readily accessible to users world-wide in Technical Service, Sales, Business and Research & Technology, contributing to commercial success.
Support and maintain models and tools for world-wide users. Ensure that identified bugs are adequately and timely fixed. Provide training to inexperienced users and/or when new models/features are released.
Build and document relevant knowledge on reaction kinetics, catalyst application, feed characterization and product properties and share it within the global Technical Service group.
Collect, transform, and analyze data to discover trends, develop correlations, develop models and/or evaluate existing models and correlations.
Create insightful visualizations of data and/or models results that can be used for training, documenting, and communication.
Stay up to date with scientific literature and modeling tools and be able to provide up-to-date innovative solutions.
