Our team is currently seeking an experienced Model-Based Systems Engineer to join our Space Operations technical team and to provide digital engineering support for Space Domain Awareness (SDA) software development efforts. In this position, you will be a member of a talented agile engineering team supporting the development of critical mission applications for the space community. You will play a key role in the analysis, design, & development of MBSE models for SDA solutions. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, testing, documentation, and ongoing support, all managed under an agile development process. You will perform grassroots requirements determination through interactions with the government customer and build models based on those requirements / processes.
This position is based in Colorado Springs and requires working in the office at least 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
Providing systems engineering and MBSE thought leadership and expertise to the analysis, design, development, and evaluation of SDA solutions.
Leading the development and implementation of system models to support development and integration of SDA capabilities into a common system
Applying your systems engineering expertise on requirements analysis, concept/technology development, architecture analysis, risk assessments, and test & evaluation for SDA capabilities
Delivering formal presentations to members of the technical staff, government customers and supporting contractors, and effectively communicate proposed concepts/solutions and analysis results
Developing model profiles, tool plug-ins, architecture frameworks, and model queries in the MBSE tools that capture and analyze models of the system(s) being developed throughout their lifecycle from concept definition through fielding and support
Defining Digital Engineering and model-based design review requirements and update the systems engineering process to utilize advanced MBSE techniques
Responsible for establishing a modeling approach while aligning to Parsons Digital Engineering Framework (PDEF) and established style guides
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field and a minimum 10 years of systems engineering digital engineering experience. Additional relevant experience may be accepted in place of a degree
Experience performing systems engineering in the design, development and/or evaluation of complex systems
Experience in system modeling using UML and associated modeling software w/ 2+ years of experience working in Cameo Systems Modeler
Experience using Agile framework development methods and processes
Direct experience applying aspects of MBSE in support of system development
Broad systems engineering experience including early concept development, requirements analysis, design, test and evaluation, and risk assessment
Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English, while establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with team members
Must be a US Citizen due to DoD contract
Desired Skills:
Experience working in space domain/situational awareness
Advanced degree in systems engineering or Physics
Experience in space domain systems engineering
Experience writing custom scripts and/or plug-ins for MagicDraw modeling software (including its Cameo variants)
Experience with UML/SysML, DoDAF, WOSA, MOSA, or GRA
Experience integrating models across multiple software applications to perform detailed analysis by leveraging data from several sources
Broad knowledge of digital engineering processes and tools including Performance-Based Modeling & Simulation Tools

Salary Range:
$113,100.00 - $203,600.00
