As a full-service transportation team, we have the diverse capabilities and proven know-how to design solutions that meet today's needs and tomorrow's demands.We are currently seeking candidates to fill the position of a mid-level Structural Bridge Design Engineer for our Cleveland, Ohio office.STRUCTURAL BRIDGE ENGINEER MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Collaborate with team with structural analysis and/or design of bridges (including steel beam, prestressed concrete beam, concrete slab, pedestrian bridges, culverts, retaining walls, grade separations, stream crossings, bridge rehabilitations, railroad bridges, and design-build pursuits).* Lead small bridge projects and help coordinate tasks.* Assist teams from other offices on structural bridge design projects.* Mentor junior engineers and perform quality control for structure plan sets.* Write technical memorandums, specifications, feasibility studies, evaluations, and reports.* Other duties as assigned.STRUCTURAL BRIDGE ENGINEER QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with Structural emphasis) required.* Ohio PE license is a plus.* 5-10 years of bridge/culvert design experience, required.* ODOT bridge design experience and thorough understanding of ODOT guidelines, procedures, and plan preparation.* Relationships with ODOT, Ohio municipalities and other DOTs, preferred.* Thorough knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and Manual for Bridge Evaluation.* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.STRUCTURAL BRIDGE ENGINEER KEY COMPETENCIES:* Critical thinking* Problem solving* Quick and continuous learning* Excellent written and verbal communication* Results driven* Customer awareness* CollaborationLJB offers competitive compensation packages, which includes paid time off, a 401(k)/profit sharing plan, tuition reimbursement, flexibility, and mobility.
