The Role
Position summary
A Middleware Architect at Kyndryl, is a person who has good experience in application design, development, and modernization as it relates to middleware. They are responsible for designing, developing and implementing middleware solutions on an application development project.
Work experience
Overall 10+ years of relevant IT experience, with minimum 7 years of experience in area of architecting, deploy and maintenance of middleware solutions in application development and modernization programs.
Role description
Our Middleware Architects are leaders. They’ve gained 10+ years’ experience in technology, 5- 7 years’ experience in Software/Middleware/Cloud Solutions and Modernization projects.
Application Architecture, Cloud Native Architectures and CI/CD automation are desirable.
Sometimes that leadership manifests in such deep technical expertise that they can lead and perform hands-on technical build, Modernization, and technical designs for projects to achieve client’s transformations and to help rescue clients from blocked or difficult projects.
Use of best practices, assets and reference architectures, to build solutions, proof-of concepts, build and execute implementation plans, testing plans and deployment plans to address client requirements and work with products or solutions based on partner hardware and/or partner software.

You’ll also become expert at knowing when and how to call on other SMEs outside your wheelhouse. Thinking your way around pre-existing limitations will grow your creativity and flexibility. Experience
Should have end to end working experience in application development across cloud native environments.
Must have experience installing, configuring and maintaining middleware software like JBoss, Apache Tomcat, WebSphere, etc.
Good understanding and experience of cloud native application design principles (like micro-services, stateless application meant for cloud, containers, 12 factor app principles etc.)

Primary
Development Languages
.Net, Java. Being able to read and write and code.
Middleware
Deploy, configure and maintain middleware like: Web Application Server - Tomcat, JBoss, Open Liberty, Apache Kafka, Apache Tomcat, Nginx, EAP, Jetty, Oracle WebLogic, NodeJS, RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, MQ Series, etc
Nice to have
Database
Knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cloud Native DBs (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.).
DevOps
Desired experience in DevOps framework and tools like: JIRA, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GIT, NEXUS, Grafana, etc.
Certification (added advantage)
Oracle Certified Professional, Java EE 7 Application Developer
Architect Certification(s) in any of the cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Cloud based DevOps Certification
Cloud based Developer Certification
MCSA: Web Applications
Professional Attributes:
Communication skills including interfacing with technical and non-technical audiences.
Problem-solving skills: identify and solve complex problems related to middleware technologies.

If you are hired, the anticipated compensation range for the position is
$102,390 $233,450 based on a full-time schedule. Your ultimate compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately.
If this is a sales role, you may be eligible for additional incentive compensation opportunities. For non-sales roles, you may be eligible for Kyndryl’s Shared Success plan.
