The Microbiologist III position is a critical role within the Microbiology group, responsible for acting as the primary technical lead and interfacing with customers. The position involves various tasks related to microbiology, method development, and verification, as well as testing of raw materials and pharmaceutical dosage forms. The individual in this role will collaborate with the Microbiology Manager and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

Responsibilities:
Plan and perform method development/validation and routine microbiological testing, ensuring compliance with applicable compendia and regulatory guidance.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, peers, and the Microbiology Manager to facilitate project activities and meet project timelines and deliverables.
Act as a group lead, providing technical guidance to junior analysts.
Maintain awareness of cGMPs, industry standards, and modern techniques applicable to pharmaceutical sciences activities.
Author and/or revise procedures/methods as necessary.
Perform technical review and verification of peers' analytical data.
Generate Certificates of Analysis and Analytical Results Forms.
Participate in microbiology-associated laboratory and deviation investigations, ensuring proper documentation.
Coordinate, support, and/or perform equipment/instrument calibration, preventative maintenance, and qualification activities.
Function as a backup to the manager when needed.
Position Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or closely related discipline.
Experience: 8+ years of microbiology laboratory experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of experience with a Master's degree.
Industry experience as a microbiologist, strong leadership and project management skills, and previous supervisory experience are desirable.

Maintain high-quality laboratory documentation in accordance with regulatory guidance and SOPs.
Ability to learn and retain technical information.
Proactive in addressing work issues at both individual and team levels.
Execute procedures or methods of moderate complexity with high quality.
Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Mathematical and scientific reasoning ability.
Basic understanding of instrument operations and troubleshooting skills in multiple techniques.
Ability to identify aberrant/out-of-spec data and limited interpretation of data.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers.
