About MFG Assembly Technician, Project Kuiper

  Description

  Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

  One of the most ambitious missions that Kuiper has undertaken to date, the Kuiper satellite constellation, is our solution to providing reliable internet to the entire world. We are looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Kuiper satellites.

  The success of Kuiper depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of the products that you deliver.   Key job responsibilities

  Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations

  Assemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of avionic LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, handle and install fiber-optics, and PCBAs

  Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated

  Supports some preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems

  Identify equipment requirements, process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory

  You will independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables

  Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance

  Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (Using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc)

  Your work may include contributing to improving SOPs and safety procedures

  Additional Requirements:

  Willing to work all shifts (days, evenings, staggered shifts) overtime and weekends as needed. Estimated shift times 2nd shift: 2:00PM - 10:30PM. Shift will vary, depending on program needs

  Flexible working/commuting in between site locations

  Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position

  Able to lift-up to 25lbs. unassisted

  Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.

  Export Control Requirement:

  Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

  The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $33.50/hour and employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits are provided. This information is provided per the Washington State Pay Transparency Act. Base pay information is based on market location.   Redmond, WA, USA

  Basic Qualifications

  High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience

  1+ years relevant high traceability manufacturing experience (Aerospace, Medical or related field)

  1+ years of hands-on work experience Electrical-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration and/or Harness Integration experience

  1+ years of hands-on experience with precision torque, measurement and inspection devices (i.e., automated and manual torque wrenches, torque drivers, calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical inspection devices, multi-meters), as well as standard hand tools

  Preferred Qualifications

  CFOT certification and/or equivalent experience

  1+ years reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/ or drawings

  Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements

  Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

  Prior military service a plus

  Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $69,680/year in our lowest geographic market up to $75,920/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
