Overview

　　Element has an opportunity for a Metallurgy Technician whose primary responsibility is to perform routine preparation of metallographic samples for metallurgical evaluation, perform hardness and small-scale corrosion testing in order to facilitate metallurgy operations in a laboratory setting.

　　Salary: $20/hr-$30/hr

　　Responsibilities

　　Perform metallographic, physical, and corrosion evaluations in accordance with company goals, quality system, and test procedures/methods.

　　Collaborate with peers on proper preparation of materials and test methodology.

　　Participate in team-oriented discussions to learn about Metallurgical topics.

　　Perform technical review of metallographic evaluations.

　　Interpret specifications/standards to ensure correct application to testing.

　　Review metallurgical test results for accuracy, completeness, and consistency to specification requirements.

　　Maintain qualifications to local procedures.

　　This is a fast-paced environment, and we need someone who is proactive, self-motivated and a team player. The person for this role will be a specialist in their field, respected by all who they work with, keen to learn and enthusiastic in the face of challenge. You will:

　　Recent graduate of/or studying Metallurgy or related discipline

　　2 - 4 years of experience working in a laboratory in the field of metallurgy testing

　　Good knowledge on international standards and codes

　　Excellent report writing skill

　　Good communication skills

　　Self-motivated team playing with excellent organizational and communication skills
