  Job SummaryThe Merchant Sales Advisor serve as integral member of the Key Merchant Services sales teams in assigned districts and/or segment, within Consumer Business Banking. With a focus on growing client relationships with payment and card processing needs, the Merchant Sales Advisor assists as part of the client's trusted advisor team for solutions in order to develop, manage and retain profitable client relationships for clients with basic to moderately complex merchant needs. Provides recommendations and solutions to help ensure the team achieves their goals. Will resolve client issues and execute appropriate action to ensure client satisfaction. Partners with various functional groups and lines of business throughout the bank for growth opportunities.

  ResponsibilitiesAcquire new merchant services relationships through prospecting external sources within the sales representative's assigned territory, as well as through referrals from client focused teams including but not limited to Retail banking, Business Banking, Private Banking and TreasuryConsult with prospective businesses in identifying the proper payment solution to meet the business needs; present and sell merchant payment processing including credit card, check processing, gift cards, ACH and the corresponding hardware and software products with small and medium size businessesIdentify merchant's other banking needs and work with available KeyBank resources to deliver solutions that meet those needsProspects small and medium size businesses in sale representative's assigned region to supplement bank referralsPerforms other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without noticePerforms other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without noticeComplies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and Key.Education QualificationsBachelor's Degree or equivalent in training and experience (required)Experience Qualifications1-3 years payments related experience in a banking environment (required)1-3 years success in a client focused environment with aggressive growth and service goals (required)Tactical SkillsStrong financial acumen including the ability to read and understand financial statementsExceptional negotiating and closing skillsStrong communication skillsPersonal SkillsCollaboration:  Demonstrates experience in participating in productive collaborative processes that help solve business problems and meet business goalsInfluence:  Develops basic persuasive arguments and utilizes active listening skills and probing techniques to surface opportunities to influencePersuasion:  Provides persuasive messages using well-reasoned arguments to address audience concerns or reactions; explains others' viewpoints and asks questions to ensure mutual understandingPractical SkillsOral & Written Communication:  Possesses the ability to adapt listening and facilitation style to others' communication styles and uses various approaches appropriately and effectivelyCore CompetenciesAll KeyBank employees are expected to demonstrate Key's Values and sustain proficiency in identified Leadership Competencies.Driving RequirementsAbility to routinely and frequently operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.

  COMPENSATION AND BENEFITSThis position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $50,000to $60,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includeseligibility forshort-term incentive compensation and d ferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
