Please see our positions listed below.Mental Health Counselor (Walla Walla Jail)This is a part-time, permanent status position serving as a mental health counselor at the Walla Walla County Adult Jail facility with some limited hours also at the Walla Walla County Juvenile Justice Center. This position must be able to diagnose independently from the DSM, identify appropriate therapies and treatments, and help stabilize individuals at these facilities. The position compensation rates range from $44 to $47 per hour and is eligible for full agency benefits.

　　Duties:

　　Counsels clients and patients, individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life stresses, and making changes. Maintains confidentiality of records relating to clients treatment.Guides clients in the development of skills and strategies to deal with their problems. Encourages clients to express their feelings and to discuss what is happening in their lives and helps them develop insight into themselves and their relationships.Collects information about clients through interviews, observations, and tests. Prepares and maintains treatment records and reports. May work with external mental health providers to coordinate treatment or prepare individuals for transfer to an external facility.Evaluates clients' mental conditions based on review of client and other available information. Develops and implements treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge. Acts as a client advocate to coordinate required services.Works with County correctional and BMHTH medical personnel to support client needs and appropriate care.*Expectations *
