Our Member Solutions is seeking a full time Recovery Specialist! This individual will maintain an acceptable level of consumer, commercial and real estate loan recoveries for loans already classified as a loss to the credit union.
Job duties
Manage vendor relationships with third party collection agencies to ensure quality and effectiveness of the vendor
Maintain a computerized queue system for contacting, working with, and collecting payments from members who caused a loss to the credit union; including keeping record of each collection attempt
Attempts to establish payment plans, assignment of wages, and/or seeks garnishment for charging off debt.
Work with proper credit reporting agencies to ensure proper credit reporting is completed and responds to member disputes
Partner with internal and external legal counsel and serves as point person for the filing of legal actions for small and large claim actions
Serves as a back up to Member Solutions Specialists as necessary to ensure department needs are met
Works as scheduled, including Saturdays, to provide consistent service to the membership
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year’s experience in collections, lending or a related capacity
Valid driver’s license as some travel is required
Working knowledge of Microsoft office and Windows programs
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of people on a regular basis
