Our organization seeks a reliable and highly organized Collections Specialist to manage all collections efforts. The Collections Specialist will be responsible for overseeing our accounts receivable portfolio to keep delinquencies in check and improve cash flow. You’ll be our in-house authority on collection processes and strategies.

Your main responsibilities will include conducting customer service/collections activities, with a focus on collections in a business-to-consumer environment. Your target area of work will be collecting mortgage payments, so understanding of this area is paramount. In addition, you should hold expertise in accurately identifying customers who are eager to receive advice and support on various payment options and resolve any payment discrepancies.

Complex problem solving, resilience, and the ability to facilitate resolution with grace under pressure will be an integral part of your role. You will liaise with delinquent account holders and work persistently towards retrieving monies owed to the organization. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is crucial for managing data and drafting essential documents.

An essential part of your role will be to follow up with every account on the assigned list and ensure prompt payments. Attention to detail, prioritization of duties, and maintaining a systematic follow up routine are critical components defining success in this designation.

Key Duties:

Conduct customer service and collections.

Collection of mortgage payments.

Provide guidance on resolving payment discrepancies.

Identify and support customers with different payment options.

Work diligently with delinquent accounts.

Excel in utilizing MS Excel and Word for task management.

Requirements

Proven experience as a collections specialist.

Solid understanding of billing procedures.

Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel).

Comfortable dealing with numbers and processing financial information.

Patience and persistence to manage difficult customers and complex scenarios.

Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.

Accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities.
