　　Fairview Range is hiring a Medical Technologist for our Laboratory Services Department in Hibbing, MN.

　　The MLS/MT functions independently in performing all major work responsibilities of professional laboratory practice. A MLS/MT performs a wide variety of complex diagnostic and therapeutic testing, and acts as a resource for problem resolution and interpretation of results. The MLS/MT correlates data based on clinical knowledge, technical expertise, and other conditions affecting test results. The MLS/MT collaborates with the customers of the laboratory to promote customer satisfaction. The MLS/MT participates in laboratory improvement activities.

　　Schedule: This position will work 72-80 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 8 and 12-hour shifts that include days, evenings, nights, and every other weekend.

　　Responsibilities/Job Description

　　As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for:

　　Collect and process biological specimens with appropriate technique following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

　　Perform testing analysis and verify assay/analyzer performance according to SOP in an efficient, cost effective manner. Any combination of the following areas may be included: Hematology, Coagulation, Microbiology, Serology, Immunology, Immunohematology, Chemistry, Special Chemistry, Urinalysis, Phlebotomy.

　　Explaining test procedures when applicable to patients in a manner geared to gain cooperation and relieve anxiety about the procedure.

　　Acts as a resource for problem solving, corrective action and troubleshooting for lab procedures and unexpected events in lab operations.

　　Participates in the lab Performance Improvement program by collecting data, reviewing the results and implementing corrective action recommendations.

　　Qualifications

　　Required Qualifications:

　　Bachelor’s Degree in related laboratory field including the related lab practicum or equivalent routes as specified in CLIA ’88.Preferred Qualifications:

　　Three years experience in a clinical laboratory.

　　Bachelor’s in Medical Laboratory or Medical Technology

　　MLS(ASCP)CM or MT (ASCP) prior to Jan 1, 2004.
