Your role
As a Medical TA Lead Specialty & Neuroscience Adriatic/Hungary, you will set and execute Medical Affairs strategies for the respective therapeutic area(s), represent the affiliate’s medical/scientific voice of expertise for assigned product(s) and relevant therapeutic areas. It provides medical/scientific expert advice/guidance to key customers for assigned products and relevant therapeutic areas, including scientific exchange and professional relationship development with key thought leaders/external experts. Furthermore, the role will provide medical/scientific input into medical affairs strategies for the affiliate/Area&Global medical affairs plans, as required, and support for affiliate medical department activities under the overall direction of the Affiliate Medical Director. The incumbent will provide medical affairs support to cross-functional affiliate teams and ensure that the medical affairs role is fully integrated to support the strategy and execution of affiliate business, while being functionally independent. The Medical TA Lead manages the team of medical advisors and medical managers for the respective therapeutic area(s), providing leadership, strategic direction and mentorship to direct reports, as appropriate, and fulfill line management responsibilities accordingly.
Responsibilities :
Provide Leadership, line management and development of the medical staff under leadership.
Act as contact point for GMA/Area medical interactions/activities for respective TAs.
Develop and maintain in depth knowledge for assigned product(s) / relevant therapeutic area(s) through attendance / participation at key internal meetings/training sessions, relevant congresses, and seminars and by regular self-study of the national/Area literature.
Operate as a scientific interface and resource to HCPs/Customer(s), Health Care Institutions, External Experts, and professional associations regarding assigned AbbVie Products or Products in Development.
Provide input, as required, into the development of product or TA specific strategic medical affairs plans for the affiliate medical department and local commercial plans; collaborate and partner with local business partners to ensure that medical activities for assigned products/therapeutic areas are aligned with local business-related strategic plans.
Ensure training is delivered to internal stakeholders (Brand team members, in-field team…) based on relevant medical/pre-launch plans
Support and oversee Research Activities.
Ensure collaboration with CSM team on common activities.
Ensure collaboration of medical staff in the preparation and review of promotional material; ensure the medical/scientific content is correct and fully compliant with Abbvie’s internal policies and guidelines.
Ensure compliance with all applicable national laws and regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, AbbVie’s policies and procedures and accepted standards of best practice.
Ensure medical/scientific strategic input and operational support of core activities such as local clinical research, HCP/Customer interactions, generation and communication of clinical and scientific data, educational initiatives and patient safety for assigned products/therapeutic areas.
Act as final approver (functional & financial) of medical projects
Ensure medical input in PLN/LRP and other business processes.

Qualifications :
Medical Degree or suitably qualified individuals from a scientific background and relevant experience.
Previous medical affairs pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry experience is essential, and management experience of medical teams is desired.
Demonstrated ability to build and lead a medical/scientific organization of a size similar to that in the affiliate
A broad and demonstrated understanding of drug development and commercialization processes
Must understand and be able to plan, manage and execute budgets effectively.
Must possess the ability to lead with confidence; a motivator of people he/she should have the ability to impart the vision and strategy of the company and of the department to others.
A strong business orientation and acumen is desirable.
Strong leadership, communication, networking, negotiation and presentation skills.
Fluency in English and Croatian, both spoken and written are a must
