Description We are seeking a Medical Records Clerk in Los Angeles, California. This role involves maintaining and organizing patient information in a mental health clinic, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory standards, and aiding in the smooth operation of administrative tasks within the clinic. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain and update patient records in compliance with clinic protocols and regulatory guidelines
• Organize, file, and retrieve medical records, ensuring efficient and systematic record-keeping practices
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of patient information, including medical history, diagnoses, treatments, and medications
• Respond promptly to requests for medical records, both from within the clinic and external entities, ensuring proper authorization and adherence to privacy regulations
• Assist healthcare providers and administrative staff with accessing relevant patient information as needed for treatment and administrative purposes
• Ensure the security and confidentiality of all patient records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and other legal requirements for protecting sensitive medical information
• Coordinate the transfer of medical records to other healthcare providers or organizations as required, maintaining a thorough and accurate record of all transactions
• Collaborate with the administrative team to improve record-keeping processes, streamline documentation, and implement electronic medical record systems efficiently
• Participate in training sessions and stay updated on relevant changes in laws, regulations, and technologies related to medical record management
• Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) skills for managing and reviewing patient records. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Records Clerk.
• Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) is required.
• Demonstrated ability in Medical Records Analysis.
• Experience with Medical Records Review is essential.
• Familiarity with OutPatient Medical Records is desirable.
• Experience in handling Patient Medical Records is necessary.
• Must possess excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Should have a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; further education in medical administration is a plus.
