Medical record/Office TechnicianAt COMHAR, it's our mission to provide health and human services that empower individuals, families and communities to live healthier,self-determined lives. We are currently looking for an Medical Assistant/Mental Health Tech for our Residential program.Duties and Responsibilities:Establish and maintain a database of consumers' medical appointments including all specialties, examinations and labs. Maintainup-to-date listing of medical providers with their contact information for each ID residential consumer.Establish and maintain a database of all residential consumers' annual physical examinations with due dates. Track tuberculintesting and due dates. Extract and add to medical appointments any follow up appointments recommended during the physical andnoted on the physical examination form.Send out timely alerts to key caregivers and supervisory staff to upcoming medical appointments including physical examinations,testing, and labs.Track completion of medical appointments and update database upon receipt of medical documentation from the completedappointment. If appointment is not completed, identify cause of missed appointment and notify management. Assure missedappointment has been rescheduled. Track missed appointments to discern patterns or trends.Disseminate medical appointment documentation to nursing department, program specialists, and maintain files as directed.Assure that follow up appointments are scheduled as determined by medical documentation. Update data base with same.Review all appointment documentation and communicate with medical personnel and/or COMHAR nursing for clarification ifwritten illegibly or for complicated cases. Request from medical provider visit summary for further clarification.Assist with obtaining services from managed care providers' Special Needs unit.Assist with audits and site reviews for licensing regarding medical information and appointments.Serve as checks and balances for obtaining timely medical pre clearance if required.Offer constructive and concerted interaction, exchange and responsiveness with both internal and external persons and entities.Project a positive, accommodating and a customer satisfaction-focused mindset.Maintain an active exchange with supervisor on issues and/or needs; offer deliberate responsiveness to supervisory directives,instructions and feedback; observe the unit's and the agency's chain of command.Fully comply with all policies, procedures, practices, regulations, laws, expectations, etc. which are either established by the unit orto which the unit is otherwise subject.
Requirements
Requirements:Candidate must have HS diplomaMust have excel spread sheet experience as well as MS Word and typing ability.Medical terminology experience required.*Effective October 15, 2021, all employees/contractors/interns/volunteers are required to provide our office with proof of COVID vaccination.
