　　Job Summary

　　The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is accountable for performing a variety of chemical, hematologic, microscopic and bacteriologic procedures following established standards and practices. Data is used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's Catholic and Benedictine heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship.Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Religious Directives.Education and/or Experience

　　Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technician and one or two years of Medical Laboratory Technician experience/training acceptable to ASCP or AMT. New grads acceptable.Licensure/Certification/Registration

　　Certification as Medical Laboratory technician required within one year of hire date.Work Schedule

　　Varied shiftsEvery third weekend/holiday night shift80hours every 2 weeksPay
