JOB REQUIREMENTS: Medical Examiner Investigator (Part-time Per Diem)Jefferson County\'s Medical Examiner office provides accurate and timelymedicolegal death investigations, while maintaining the highest standardof professionalism and integrity. The staff is dedicated to respectingthe needs of families as well as the interest of the general public. TheMedical Examiner is currently hiring a part-time per diem MedicalExaminer Investigator that will conduct medicolegal investigations ofdeaths that come under the jurisdiction of the Jefferson County MedicalExaminer\'s Office in accordance with Wisconsin State Statutes andprovide office assistance to the Medical Examiner. As an experienced,well organized individual, you will be successful in this role bycompleting the below key tasks and responsibilities: Answering phonecalls and providing appropriate case details, performing case follow-up,maintaining database and case files, preparing reports Conductingmedicolegal investigations including: photographing and documenting thescene; determining cause and manner of death; determining need forautopsy, toxicology, x-ray etc.; determining need for involvement ofdetectives, crime lab, District Attorney etc.; performingpronouncements; interviewing medical staff, witnesses, law enforcement,families, etc. Examining bodies to investigate and determine cause andmanner of death Identifying the deceased and personally notifying nextof kin in conjunction with law enforcement Obtaining personal data andmedical history of the deceased by examining documents and interviewingrelatives, friends, and witnesses Variety of other tasks necessary andprovided on the job description Starting wage: \$90/case taken Hours:Varies will be an on-call schedule ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE ANDQUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications Needed: Associates degree in nursing,chemistry, biology, medicine, pre-med, paramedic, EMT, forensic science,criminal justice, or closely related field and 1 year of experience. Acombination of education and experience that provide the necessaryskills, knowledge, and abilities may be considered.
