Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity in the healthcare industry. Based in a location in Indiana, we are seeking a Medical Coder to join our team. Your main role will be to accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses, liaise with healthcare professionals, and ensure compliance with coding regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately assign and sequence CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for all rendered services

• Collaborate with healthcare providers and medical staff to ensure clarity of diagnoses and to obtain additional information when necessary

• Ensure that all assigned codes meet federal, insurance, and internal company regulations and policies to prevent fraudulent or misleading coding

• Keep abreast of all updates and changes in coding principles, procedures, rules, and regulations

• Enter data into relevant databases and manage electronic health records with utmost accuracy

• Utilize problem-solving abilities to resolve coding issues and improve the accuracy of the coding process

• Conduct internal reviews of coding and billing information for accuracy prior to claim submission

• Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols to protect sensitive patient information

• Document all coded data and related information, and prepare necessary reports as needed

• Assist in processing insurance claims and work closely with billing teams, providing them with necessary coded data for claim submission Requirements • Proficient in using 3M and 3M coding software.

• Demonstrable experience with Allscripts electronic health record software.

• Familiarity with Cerner Technologies is a must.

• Should possess strong auditing skills.

• Capable of efficiently handling billing functions.

• Extensive knowledge and experience in medical coding is essential.

• Must be certified in medical coding or have relevant job experience.
