About MEDICAL ASSISTANT PROGRAM FACULTY - GOOD SAMARITAN COLLEGE - FULL TIME (80 HRS),

  Job Overview:This position exists to provide supplemental/adjunct instruction for courses offered at the Good Samaritan College of Nursing. Responsible for classroom and laboratory (if applicable) teaching activities in assigned course. Actively supports an outcomes-based learning centered culture through continued professional development for improvement of self and the college in keeping with the College's learning-centered values and goals. Reports to and operates under the direction and supervision of the Department Chair.Job Requirements:Associate's Degree in field related to course being taughtProvide evidence of recognized professional competence Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Must have either proven or presumptive scholarship in subject matter field2-3 years experience Professional Teaching faculty will have at least 24 months of sufficient diversified professional experience to support effective teachingJob Responsibilities:Participates in the planning and implementation of the course. Reviews and revises content as necessary. Selects audiovisual materials, references and other appropriate resources to facilitate learning. Prepares, administers and analyzes evaluation methods. Coordinates learning experience with appropriate staff. Consults with area Department Chair. Attends course meetings.Presents in an organized manner. Develops presentation to encompass new concepts, principles, term and application. Presents in an expressive manner encouraging student contributions. Uses a variety of teaching strategies. Implements ongoing assessment of student learning.Implements instruction facilitating student attainment of expected behaviors. Plans experiences to assist students to achieve course objectives. Confers with students regarding progress according to established course requirements. Acts as role model when facilitating student learning.Evaluates student achievement of expected learning behaviors. Provides verbal/written feedbackSupports college operations. Participates in systematic plans of evaluation. Participates in the advisory role for student learning. Attends college functions. Supports college goals. Serves as a member of a committee, sub-committee or task force in addition to College Assembly.
