Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Takes patient histories and vital signs.3. Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.4. Gives injections and applies dressings as required.5. Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.Assists physicians in preparing for physical exams.Assists with scheduling of tests and treatments or forwards to the Referral Department/Radiology scheduling as appropriate.Screens telephone calls for referral to nurse or physician.Provides general information on departmental policies and procedures.Identifies clinical and office supplies and equipment needed and notifies lead and/or practice manager.11. Maintains patient files, records, and other information.12. Compiles and condenses technical and statistical data for reports and records.Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.Stocks and cleans rooms in between patients, end of day and as needed.Performs department specific work as required.Complies with all statutory regulatory policies and procedures.KNOW HOW: Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patient care. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of EMR. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications as directed. Skill in taking and recording accurate vital signs. Skill in maintaining records and recording test results. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly.TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
