Description
The Medical Assistant will participate in the total patient care in the ambulatory setting, recognizing normal and abnormal signs and symptoms and life threatening emergencies. You will act as back office staff, assisting in patient care, and maintaining high standards of care.
Pay Range: $27.24 - $35.94 HourlyQualifications
Required:
*Must possess the following active certifications: Medical Assistant Certification, Phlebotomy Certification and CPR/BLS Certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
*Ability to accurately perform and document vital signs and anthropometric measures.
*Competency in administering medications
*Ability to recognize abnormal vital signs
*Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and immediately report to the ordering, providing and attending physician
*Knowledge of symptomatology of common and/or life-threatening medical problems
*Interpersonal skills to maintain a cooperative working environment with all members of the health team
*Skill in performing phlebotomy, CPR, injections, and other skills within scope of practice
*Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills and the ability to use computerized patient care systems
*Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to assist providers to efficiently perform physical examinations and/or procedure
Preferred:
*Working experience in Family Medicine and/or Internal Medicine
*English/Spanish bilingual
