　　The mission of The University of Texas M. D. 　　The hours for this position are Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm.

　　Summary

　　The primary purpose of the Medical Assistant in the Ambulatory Float Pool is rotating to clinics in the ambulatory setting as needed to provide patient care and customer service assistance to the ambulatory care patient, as delegated, and support daily operations of the clinic.

　　The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of recent ambulatory experience working in direct patient care.

　　Provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse.

　　Essential Job Functions

　　Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs. Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs. Updates and retrieves patient information. Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Acts as part of the assigned care team.

　　Other duties as assigned.

　　Education

　　Required : High school diploma/equivalent.

　　Experience

　　Required : One year of medical assistant experience.

　　Preferred : Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or US Military medical services training program. With preferred degree, no experience is required.
