  Applied Materials’ Vacuum Platform Center of Excellence is searching for a New College Graduate to join our team! Our team designs and develops the core Vacuum Mainframe sub-systems used on the majority of Applied’s Silicon Products Group products. The position will entail the following:

  Responsibilities

  Interface with multiple design and manufacturing engineering disciplines to specify, design, develop and commercialize semiconductor manufacturing capital equipment.

  Participate and support senior design engineers to execute the detailed design of vacuum system components, modules, & systems

  Problem identification and troubleshooting engineering problems, which are on leading edge of technology and system functionality.

  Assist with vacuum hardware testing in a laboratory environment to validate hardware performance and identify design and performance improvement opportunities.

  Support System Integration & Manufacturing during the assembly and final testing of new product designs.

  Define, coordinate, perform, and generate engineering test reports. Specify and review engineering documentation. Specify or perform engineering analysis of complex scope with limited supervision

  Interface with internal and external organizations regarding design solutions and/or improvements to Vacuum mainframes and subsystems

  Requirements

  Graduating with an advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  Must be in good academic standing with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale

  Previous exposure or experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing preferred

  Able to solve complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions

  Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information

  Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus

  Flexible and adaptable mindset who thrives in a results-driven culture

  U.S. Salary Range:

  $96,000.00 - $132,000.00

  The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

  For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
