Job Summary
Perform functions to plan, research and develop solutions to product design related problems for a limited variety and complexity of assigned projects related to pharmaceutical production equipment.
Responsibilities
• Plan and analyze assigned project needs involving the design of individual assemblies, mechanisms, and/or schematics.
• Perform required calculations and analysis to determine the feasibility of design alternatives and prepare project bills of material, schematics and/or software routines as required.
• Work and meet with customers as necessary to establish initial project design objectives and specifications.
• Interface with other department staffs and vendors to resolve mechanical engineering issues and to research and specify the purchase of components, and parts to meet project needs.
• Develop prototypes and test plans and procedures to verify the feasibility of design alternatives.
• Perform test procedures, record, and analyze test results and take necessary corrective actions.
• Design and prepare pneumatic systems and diagrams.
• Ability to prepare and maintain test protocol (FAT, IQ, OQ. Development testing).
• Generate project cost and time quotations.
• Develop required project documentation including manuals and installation instruction.
• Perform project finalization and release procedures and prepare related documentation.
• Perform and supervise product installation procedures and provide user training as required.
• Provide technical support throughout the company and for customers as required.
• Prepare project reports as scheduled.
• Assign and direct work of support personnel.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Work and Educational Requirements
• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or general engineering
• Two years minimum designing industrial machinery and equipment, preferably in a GMP industry such as pharmaceutical or food processing or packaging
• Proficient using 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, or Creo. Inventor preferred
