Summary You will serve as a Mechanical Engineer in the F/A-18 A/V A-D SE Branch, PEO (T) PSE Division, Support Equipment Dept of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE. Responsibilities You will advise on engineering services related to the repair and overhaul of mechanical systems for submarines or surface crafts. You will accomplish developmental assignments utilizing basic techniques, procedures, and methods. You will analyze project requirements to schedule or sequence work operations. You will brainstorm multiple approaches and solutions that take a global view of the problem, while also addressing competing interests. You will compose contract modifications for implementing warfare system improvements.. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) performing in a technical engineering advisory and assistance capacity as an expert on tactical aircraft SE design and analysis for both shore based and shipboard equipment. 2) responding to Request for Engineering Information (REI) and provide technical guidance and determinations to supply support activities. 3) generating Engineering Change Proposals and draft Technical Directives for promulgation to fleet activities to address support equipment performance, obsolescence and safety issues. 4) developing new hypotheses, designing, or analytical techniques for complex subject matter utilizing critical judgment and design and analysis engineering techniques. 5) providing and analyzing design engineering approaches to other engineers internal and external to NAVAIR; development, manufacturing and physical verification and validation.
