Mechanical Drafter/ Designer (Mount Hope, Ohio)
World-renowned company we are working with in Mount Hope, Ohio, is currently hiring, Engineering Support, several Mechanical Drafters. Roles will be responsible for supporting the quoting and ordering process for commercial and residential sectional garage doors through the creation of door assembly drawings.
Roles are Contract to Hire (The intended candidates will be offered a direct positions once they are 1) established and working independently, 2) our client has approval in their budget). These are not Temporary positions.
Responsibilities:
Create 2-dimensional drawings in AutoCAD (exterior view -scaled Depiction Drawings, and, also, interior view Application Drawings with installation, track, and operator dimensioning).
Responsible for efficiently generating bills of material, providing technical support to customer service, and approving customer orders.
Creating AutoCAD shop drawings and bills for manufacturing.
Pro-actively communicate with Customer Care and internal support teams to resolve product configuration questions. • Read, interpret, and understand bills of materials.
Utilize, improve, and develop calculations and workflows to improve engineering processes.
Assist all departments as necessary to drive out costs and improve quality and product offerings.
Apply standard calculations and guidelines for installation clearances and reaction loads.
Read, interpret, and understand bills of materials.
Check dimensions, verify finished work, and compile required documentation.
Drafter/ Analyst/ Designer is the right mindset (Working on a team of 6, some in Ohio, some in Texas, Drafter will be given quotes, then, using catalogs, libraries of previous drawings, and also at times researching on their own, building out the parts).
Qualifications:
A Drafting role in many ways but requires some higher-level skills (there are several calculations that go into every drawing, and complex sets of configurations rules to learn and navigate).
Designer needs to be self-directed, to pull their work from an incoming directory and pro-actively drive answers to any questions they have, or, research / analyze/apply missing information they come across in each job. Drafter/SR. Drafter/
Associate’s Degree, CAD Design and/or Drafting; or equivalent preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Proficient knowledge of Drafting practices.
Ability to be flexible and to handle multiple projects at the same time.
Maintain a pro-active attitude and be a self-starter exploring best design solutions.
