Plan and design mechanical parts, modules, and subsystems to support the design of whole systems in semiconductor processes. Responsible for the complete mechanical design process. Specifically, responsible for requirements specification, feasibility studies, cost and scheduling, various analysis, conceptual and detailed design using CAD systems, detailed drawings, mechanical design review presentations, procurement of prototype parts, system integration, prototype testing, and handoff to manufacturing. Work with other engineering groups, such as electrical, optical, systems and manufacturing engineers, to ensure flawless integration and test at the subsystem and system level. Develop the required supporting documentation, such as assembly and test procedures, and service manuals. Work closely with and manage suppliers to ensure all mechanical design requirements are specified and achieved. Address and resolve product issues through the product phases, including design modification. Apply knowledge of mechanical engineering to develop sophisticated mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. May telecommute. Salary range: $140,862-$144,200 per year.
