　　About the Role

　　An opportunity has arisen for a Development Engineer to work within our Research and Development team based at our Loughton factory. In liaison with the Development Manager, you will be responsible for the design, build and test of test rigs for potential new and existing products. You will also be tasked with the creation of test plans for development testing, producing technical bulletins and providing assistance with field installation problems via Technical Support.

　　We’re looking for someone ideally with a mechanical background and some electrical knowledge from a similar role. You’ll need to be a fault finder / trouble shooter and a good all-rounder.

　　Post pandemic you will be required to visit UK and Overseas customer sites as required.

　　What you will be doing:

　　Design, build and test of test rigs for potential new products.

　　Design, build and test of retrofit kits and/or design changes for existing products.

　　Assistance to field installation problems via Technical Support.

　　Responsible for the creation of test plans for development testing.

　　Responsible for assisting in the creation of Technical Bulletins.

　　Responsible for assisting in the creation of build procedures for new products.

　　To liaise and communicate with other departments as necessary.

　　To visit UK and Overseas customer sites as required.

　　To inform and appraise the Development Manager as appropriate.

　　To follow the department dress code.

　　To ensure that at all times, in the discharge of responsibilities, the requirements of Health and Safety At Work are met.

　　All duties listed above are to be carried out under the direction of the Development Manager, who may also require other duties not specified to be undertaken.

　　What you bring to be successful:

　　Minimum BTEC ONC/OND Mechanical Engineering or equivalent subject discipline

　　Experience in building electro-mechanical systems and assemblies

　　Experience in developing and improving machines

　　Experience is fault diagnosing and finding solutions to engineering problems

　　Experience with working closely with the design team to share ideas and concepts

　　Experience in supporting production and inspections teams

　　You must be capable of using electro & mechanical tool and equipment

　　You must have a Cando attitude and be able to drive project work with minor supervision

　　Must have mechanical design ability with some CAD experience

　　Full driving licence & ability to travel

　　Must have good communication and organisational skills

　　Must have good experience with Microsoft packages
