  Position Summary:

  A Mechanic A is responsible for the repair, overhaul, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and/or packaging equipment and facility upgrades as required.

  This is a full-time, union position - both day and night shift opportunities available.

  Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to:

  Perform repair, overhaul, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment with minimal supervision.

  Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and electrical malfunctions with minimum guidance.

  Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production. Diagnose and prioritize problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust as required to return machinery to service.

  Repair and upgrade facilities as required.

  Use of various hand and power tools.

  Maintain equipment for optimal performance.

  Report unresolvable equipment issues to supervisor.

  Compile operating instructions for equipment, as needed.

  Other responsibilities as assigned by management.

  Requirements

  Education and Experience:

  High School or GED diploma required.

  Some college coursework or trade school degree preferred.

  Minimum of 5 years of work experience in MIG TIG welding, mill and turning machinery, preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or packaging.

  Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:

  Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams.

  Strong attention to detail.

  Able to comprehend and follow instructions, and perform tasks as required.

  Able to work independently or as part of a team.

  Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers and Variable Frequency Drivers.

  Ability to follow company SOPs; knowledge of GMPs and safety guidelines.

  Understand production systems and machinery thoroughly.

  Physical Demands:

  Required to use hands to operate computer controls, equipment, tools, and operational machinery.

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, bend, sit, talk, hear, or walk for long periods. The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

  Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

  Work Environment:

  Work environment in production facilities include proximity to heavy machinery, pharmaceutical powders/powders, fumes, and loud noises.

  Potential to move between production operations sites/areas to complete job functions.

  Hours/Travel maybe subject to changed based on management/company discretion.

  May be required to work in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, snow.

  Responsible for compliance with all rules and regulations pertaining to safety policies and for leading by example with the proper attitude toward safety and health, helping to ensure that all department operations are performed with the utmost regard for the safety and health for all personnel.

  Supervisory Responsibilities:

  None.

  Personal Protective Equipment or Attire Required for Position:

  As needed.

  Pay Range:

  $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
