Full-time position, which performs difficult to complex mechanic work for the repair, diagnosis, and maintenance of all County heavy equipment and vehicles; Welding and fabrication in relation to heavy equipment repair; Does related work as required.Examples of Duties:- Repairs and rebuilds gasoline and diesel engines, air compressors, and portable water pumps.- Inspects, adjusts, and repairs gasoline and diesel equipment, including engines, diesel systems, and hydraulic pumps.- Repairs and maintains trenching machines, air compressors, concrete mixers, water pumps, pneumatic tools, and hoses.- Fits and adjusts bearings, pumps, sprayers, and carburetors.- Tests, adjusts, and tunes all types of engines, fuel injection systems, fuel or oil supply pumps, and governors.Minimum Qualifications:- Associate Degree in Diesel Mechanics or two (2) year certification; and- Minimum of one (1) year experience in diagnosis, repair and service maintenance of heavy equipment and motor vehicles; or- Any equivalent combination of experience and training totaling three (3) years.Certifications:- Commercial Driver's License Class A II with tanker endorsement minimum issued by the State of Montana (or ability to acquire within the 6-month probationary period):- Automotive air-conditioning license or ability to acquire within first 6 months of employment;- Advanced welding skills of all types.Equal Opportunity Employer.
