Burlington Electric McNeil is seeking to hire one person to join themaintenance department. In addition to this posting, we will consider aMechanic 1st Class B (also posted).
Essential Job Functions
Repair, maintain, dismantle, overhaul, rebuild, and inspect steamturbine, multi fuel traveling grate high pressure boiler, electricalgenerator, air compressors, draft fans, cooling towers, wood and ashhandling equipment, electrostatic precipitator, hydraulics andhigh-pressure pumps and other related power plant equipment.
Operates rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery andparts
Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connectcouplings and fan belts to precise tolerances.
Troubleshoot, service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Assist in maintaining front-end loaders and other vehicles.
Carry out preventive maintenance program tasks including changing alloils gear reducers, fans, pumps, and bearings.
Install, repair, and maintain a wide variety of power plant valves.
Install, repair, and maintain piping and fittings for oil, natural gas,water, steam, compressed air, and heating systems.
Report any maintenance needs to the maintenance supervisor, as well asany recommendations on parts or service.
Performs skilled craftwork such as welding, pipefitting, and machining
Identifies and troubleshoots mechanical problems in operating equipment
Maintains an inventory of gaskets, sealants, penetrants, lubricants, andother maintenance consumables.
Non-Essential Job Functions:
Unload railcars as needed.
Clean assigned areas as directed.
Perform other duties as required.
