Adams Turkey Farm is an open range operation which hasa temporary need for workers during the growing and slaughtering seasonof March through December. The occupation is not year-round because theemployer\'s need is temporary. The workers assist in feeding, cleaning,and raising the poultry for slaughter. The entire operation is locatedon the farm and the amount of poultry processed is 100% raised by AdamsTurkey Farm. Workers will perform all facets of poultry raising andcleaning, slaughtering, and dressing of fowl in preparation for market.Workers will clean to USDA specifications any and all rooms, equipmentto include blood pans, rendering barrels, ice barrels, floors, toiletand walls. Workers must be able to lift and carry boxes and barrelsweighing up to 80 pounds. Workers will catch and move fowl to area forprocessing, hang live poultry in shackles, and perform bleed outoperations. Additionally, workers will perform knife cuts, remove,separate & prepare viscera, use packaging machines, apply labels, andrecord weights, as well as feed the poultry, construct pens and cleanbarns and the feeding and drinking equipment. Workers will assist in theharvest of raw maple sap, which includes pulling taps, cleaning, andrepairing sap lines, as well as maintenance of the sugar woods. Workerswill also be involved in all aspects of Christmas tree growing includingplanting, shearing and grass control. Workers may perform otherfarm-related duties as the need arises. Workers will perform otheractivities related to production and harvest of crops including fruitand vegetables. Workers must be available to work Saturdays. Workersmust be willing to work in varied outdoor weather conditions. Workersmay require to work 6 hours shift within
the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm from Monday through Thursday and may work 8hours shift within the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm on Friday and Saturdays.Workers will be given 1 hour for lunch and a 15-minute break in themorning and afternoon. Workers will operate trucks or multi-purposevehicles, haul tools, supplies, or crops; on an as-needed basis. ADriver\'s License may be required. Workers must be able to takedirections in simple English and work accordingly with both managers andowners.
