Job Description:Performs a variety of perinatal ultrasound procedures.

ScopePerforms a variety of perinatal ultrasound procedures that utilize highfrequency sound waves to evaluate internal organs and vessels for thediagnosis of disease in utero. Prepares exam room. Obtains informed consent,and requests an accurate clinical history as necessary for the exam. Reviewspatient history and determines proper selection of protocols. Explains methodof examination and positions patient. Assesses the patient's status andneeds, completes appropriate diagnostic techniques/tests to ascertainpatient's on-going condition, and performs the necessary interventions.Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness, and typeof test ordered. Ensures quality images. Coordinates the preparation ofimages/exams and needed documentation for physician partners.Documents and communicates patient related information thoroughly andaccurately. Informs patient of physician's instructions or ancillarycaregiver's observations or concerns and takes same into consideration inproviding appropriate care. Meets the needs of the patient, family andmulti-disciplinary team through effective communication, coordination anddocumentation ensuring safety, care, courtesy and efficiency. Ensures safeand effective hand off between shifts by communicating clearly with oncomingshMonitors equipment reliability and safety. Reports issues and/or repairs orservice due. Orders and stocks supplies, cleans rooms, and equipment tomaintain work environment. Transports patients as needed.(If applicable) May be required to float to other departments (withinscope of competency and qualifications) based on business need.(If applicable) May be required to be placed on-call during a regularlyscheduled shift.
Certifications
Required:American Registry of Radiologic Technology ARRT (S) or ARDMS registry isrequired.Health Care Provider Life Support certification is required.
Experience
Preferred: One (1) year ultrasound experience is preferred.
