You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of New Shepard. You will review production drawings for large complex assemblies, develop processes, select materials, help implement a New Shepard Parts, Materials and Processes Plan and define design requirements. We work closely with quality, design, structures, thermal, integration and manufacturing to optimize designs and processes. Your broad welding and metallic experience will be impactful to the team as we refine processes and engineering designs. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Responsibilities:Support design, analysis, materials selection, process development, and M&P qualification for NS vehicle.Provide non-advocate review of welding designs and qualification procedures using technical judgment.Provide technical mentorship for FSW and/or GTA design and operation team leads and welders.Work with multi-functional teams within NS and across Blue Origin.Contribute to the development of internal engineering and processes to standardize and accelerate material evaluation, implementation, and qualification.Minimum Qualifications:Minimum of a B.S. degree in Aerospace, Welding, Material Science, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.5+ Years of proven M&P or Welding Engineering experience on a production flight or space programExperience with AWS D17.1 and/or D17.3Demonstrated experience developing new processes and refining existing processesFamiliarity of aerospace-grade materials characterization and NDI techniquesKnowledge of industry standards for material data analysisExcellent attention to detail and task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work and willingness to perform low-level tasks when needed.Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle small and large projects with a diversity of internal and external customers.Strong written and personal digital literacy.Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to our inclusive culture.Knowledgeable in Aluminum, Titanium, corrosion, Friction Stir Welding, fusion welding or metallic materials."Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Preferred Qualifications:Experience crafting and implementing test plans for analysis and qualification of components or materials such as aluminums, nickel alloys, titanium, stainless steel and other exotic alloys.Experience organizing and managing materials and process-related data in a company accessible databaseExperi
