Summary You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER LEADER in the Navy Munitions Command Pacific, CONUS West Division (NMCPAC CWD) of NMCPAC CWD DET LEMOORE in Lemoore, California. Responsibilities You will lead or perform activities inspecting, receiving, issuing, storing, segregating, selecting, handling, prepping, inventorying, shipping ordnance material or other various hazardous or inert materials. You will maintain an accurate inventory of assets, utilizing associated automated information systems; inspecting and evaluates work, materials, equipment, written procedures and references. You will assure the quality and safety of ordnance material and operations as related to the receipt, issue, storage, handling, segregation, renovation, preservation and packing of such items. You will lead and assist work crews in performing explosive ordnance and component operations and ensure these tasks are assigned/scheduled by the supervisor and are accomplished in a timely manner. You will continually remain abreast of the progress of work and assignments to assure accountability, safety, and security procedures have been met and/or are being followed. You will as a leader, maintain current knowledge, answer questions from workers regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, or other directives (e.g. technical orders) to assure the quality of work and deadlines are met. You will communicate instructions received from supervisor and get work crews started by assigning the tasks to the individual members of the group; ensuring that the work is distributed fairly. You will follow safety standards for handling and storing hazardous materials to adhere with established protocols. You will instruct workers on safe material handling equipment operations to minimize or prevent safety hazards. You will direct and transport items to warehouse or storage locations using approved methods (e.g., stacking, palletizing, arranging, rotating) for securing materials..
