The Material Specialist is responsiblefor warehouse activities within a distribution center as well as atremote warehouses. Fulfill daily orders, receive, put away, restock anddisburse materials utilizing the current ERP system. Pre-load/stagematerial. Inspect trailers for correct loading procedures. Requisitionand assist with procurement process when necessary. Recognize and reportdamage and/or incorrect shipment of material. Evaluate, prepare andaccount for returned materials including jobsite and field returns.Identify and reclaim materials fit to be returned to stock or scrapped,sold or another means of disposition. Assist with inventory accuracy.Conducts physical inventory counts. Resolve problems with storagelocations and labeling. Initiate, investigate, verify, report andcorrect discrepancies. Assist the Materials Management group inmaintaining adequate inventory levels. Ensure material shelf life isregularly updated. Maintain records. Ensure proper accounting is appliedto all transactions. Perform required housekeeping tasks. Keep storageareas clean and in an orderly condition. Inspect for improper storage ofmaterial and remedy problem situations promptly. Identify unsafeconditions and promptly initiate action to correct the situation.Operate and inspect a variety of material handling equipment includingbut not limited to forklifts, cranes and CDL rated vehicles. Incorporatesafe handling techniques for oversized, heavy and/or unique materials.Know and follow all DOT rules and regulations.
