The MaterialHandler transports materials throughout our facility safely andefficiently. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this key positionrequires precision, focus, the ability to work as part of a team and,most importantly, a strong commitment to safety. ResponsibilitiesPromote Safety as the Number 1 priority of all employees. Read workorder or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containersto be moved. Properly load and/or unload materials as necessary onto orfrom pallets, trays, racks, and shelves. Safely convey materials fromstorage or work sites to designated areas. Count, weigh, and/or recordunits of materials moved as required. Attach identifying tags or labelsto materials as instructed. Remove and correctly store excess skids,pans and bulk boxes. Perform preventative maintenance as required.Maintain a neat and well-organized work area. Other duties as directedby Group Leader or Supervisor. Requirements High school diploma orequivalent. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safetyrules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals andwork orders. Ability to perform simple mathematical equations, use abasic calculator and scales. PC skills and ability to utilize warehousemanagement systems preferred. Forklift certified and capable ofoperating a fork truck within reasonable speeds and safely in acongested manufacturing environment. Team-oriented approach with adesire to work in a hands-on capacity. Positive attitude, good judgmentand excellent time management skills. Strong attention to detail. Strongsense of responsibility and ownership. Ability to work overtime hours asneeded. Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use handsto finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with handsand arms, climb or balance; and regularly lift and/or move up to 50pounds.
