In this role, the Procurement Professional will be gathering internal customer requirements, reviewing proposal solicitation instructions in regards to procurement activities and oversee the quoting process, negotiations, and pricing bill of material (BOM) costs on proposals. The ideal candidate will be required to understand supply chain compliance, know industry sources for materials, be able to communicate at a high level both internally and externally, and be accountable.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for timely and accurate material pricing on proposal efforts.
Responsible for the request for quote process.
Responsible for meeting cost savings and price objectives.
Price large Bill of Materials (BOM).
Understand and maintain compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
Good working knowledge of CPSR, FAR, DFARS, GSA and other Acquisition Regulations.
Effective analytical, oral, and written communication skills for customer/vendor relations and interfaces.
Experience with ERPs, Excel, Adobe Acrobat and other Microsoft Office packages
Experience with Unanet not required, but a plus.
You’re required to have this
Bachelor’s Degree in business management, supply chain, logistics, or engineering (or related fields) or three (3) years of relevant work experience.
Working knowledge of the Uniform Commercial Codes (UCC), contracts law and commercial contracting best practices.
Ability to apply concepts of basic and advanced mathematics in order to calculate discounts, interests, commissions, percentages etc.
Ability to read and interpret moderate terms and conditions of sales and purchases.
Ability to work in dynamic environment and handle multitasking efficiently.
A solid understanding of all steps from procurement to payment (requisition, approval, purchase order, receipt, and billing); understand the sourcing related steps (requirements definition, analysis category, strategy planning, vendor selection, strategy execution, contract allocation).
Knowledge of the FAR.
Desired:
Experience with international vendor relations and international contracting activities is preferred.
Experience working with high level (i.e. executive) internal and external customers preferred.
