The Massage Therapist administers therapeutic massage and bodywork modalities. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to the following: • Interviews patient to determine medical history, condition, desired results and appropriate modality. • Applies selected modality, concentrating on areas of particular discomfort. Monitors patient's responses to treatment and adjusts, changes or terminates treatment based on feedback. • Documents patient information, interview responses, treatments, feedbacks and results. • Maintains therapy area in a clean, safe, and organized state. Orders supplies as necessary. • Promote and educate staff and patients about the benefits of massage therapy. • Maintains current knowledge and skills of pathophysiology and the appropriate application of massage/bodywork. *Licensure / Certification: • Licensed Graduate Massage Therapist credentialed from the Connecticut Department of Public Health Education: • Graduate of an accredited Massage Therapy program with a minimum of 500 hours.
